Karin Newell,
President
Serving on the Board of Directors in various positions five years prior to joining
the ARTSNET staff as President in December 2003. Taking on the position included the
challenge of leading an organization out of a downward trend resulting from the negative
impact after 9-11. This challenge was nothing new to Karin who’s reputation in the
financial industry was one for not only opening successful banking branches but also
having the ability to turn around struggling situations. By the end of 2004, ARTSNET
boasted a positive year. 2005 ARTSNET has expanded the areas served to include the City
of Saginaw with their first MasterWorks concert in April. This partnership has now brought
ARTSNET the recognition by the Texas Commission on the Arts as the arts council representing
16 communities in Tarrant County. Under Karin's leadership, ARTSNET now sees a bright future on the horizon.
