As a native New Yorker I loved the lush rolling hills and mountains, the tall vibrant green trees and foliage, the riot of color during the fall, and of course the winter snow.  This background of nature, color, and seasonal weather from the Finger Lakes region in New York inspires and influences my painting today as a landscape artist. Moving to North Central Texas in the early 90’s ago was a drastic change in environment.  Since moving I have come to love painting the flat plains and plateaus of North Central Texas and that of the American Southwest just as I am still drawn the magnificent landscape of the northeast.

I prefer working in transparent watercolor, but I enjoy the experience of other media and new techniques.  Experimenting with art is exciting, whether creating an under painting, spray-texing, spattering or pouring, I enjoy the process as well as the product of creativity.  Art is alive, exciting, stimulating, relaxing and frustrating at the same time.  Creating is also a need, regardless of medium or method, it is a way to communicate your interpretations of life, a wonderful way to express one’s inner self, and always takes you on a different journey.  Whether creating or teaching it is forever a new experience to be shared and treasured.  I feel that to grow as an artist it’s important to experiment with new styles, techniques, and mediums.
